5:00 in the morning

Today I am going to take some pictures and upload them. I want everyone to see Mom and also, to see Pam and Barry's beautiful home. They just redid their kitchen (granite, black appliances) and I got to be the first one to cook in it! The best part is Pam was HAPPY to do the dishes. I love to cook but hate, hate, hate the dishes!
TN is really pretty this time of year. All the trees have grown their green leaves. People are already having to mow their lawns! When I arrived the weather was 86* and breezy. I kept thinking that it felt like I was on the carribbean. Yesterday was quite cool. Wonder what today will bring.

I am missing John, my husband, and Phoebee, our dog. I also miss making jewelry and fused glass. I am hoping John will have time to get water hooked up to my grinder while I am here. My studio is getting completed at a very slow, but steady pace!

Speaking of John and things on his todo list....poor guy has to dig out the septic tank and figure out what is wrong with it.. . . An unpleasant order has been wafting up more and more persistently, of late. I hope he is taking good care of himself while I am gone!

Kniffty knitting

Well, mom has really taken to the Kniffty knitter. She is on a lot of pain meds, but that does not stop her. It is slow going and sometimes she gets confused, but, in the end she will have made a pretty cap that someone in our family is going to cherish for many years to come.

Last night was my first night here. I am actually sleeping with mom. There were storms raging through TN, but none hit us. But, my sis has a weather alert Thingy ma do that woke me up three separate times to warn me about Tornadoes in other counties. I guess I should not complain, since all I got was lack of sleep and NOT a tornado!

Today I got us all unpacked and mom got a bath and hair shampoo. We are both resting now.

Hope you all are having a great day!

Blogging...who me?

Well, I keep being told I need a blog to support my Etsy Shop. How will it support my Etsy Shop....I don't know! But I am going on this journey and I hope I will be taking you along with me.

Today, I am in Tenn., visiting with my Mom and sis and brother. It is so nice to see them all! Mom is extremely ill and I feel so blessed to be here to help out with her care and comfort. My sister and brother have been doing such a good job caring for her while working full time. Hopefully I can give them a little relief. Mom is down around 93 or 94 lbs. She has lung cancer and is really fighting the hard fight.

While here, I am going to teach Mom to knit on my nifty knitter looms. I got these looms for my birthday in March and have already whipped out 9 beannies, a blanket and a scarf. I will post pictures of this exciting process and the resulting works of fiber art! I know you can't wait!

Time for bed...I am sleeping with Mom. She is so frail it is like having a new baby. Sweet dreams.
